2010 Opportunity

Apply now for two $500 scholarships for the Cole Butler Memorial available through RCYBA. Applications are due by April 18, 2010.

Cole Butler Memorial Scholarship

The Cole Butler Memorial Scholarship Fund was established after Cole’s death in a snowmobile accident in March of 2005. The Butler family designated Rochester Community Youth Basketball as the recipient of memorials to Cole.


Cole graduated from Lourdes High School in 1998. He participated in
Rochester Community Youth Basketball in grade school. At Lourdes he played on the varsity all four years and set a school career scoring record of 1065 points. Cole played on the Minnesota Select Basketball team between his junior and senior year. He went on to play all four years on the varsity team at St Thomas University in St Paul. Cole loved to play basketball and felt it played an important role in shaping his life.

Rochester Community Youth Basketball is pleased to present two $500.00 Cole Butler Memorial Scholarships for academic excellence and contribution to Rochester Basketball.

2009 award winners were Lindsay Braatz from Century and Kirby Reeping from JM.

2008 award winners were Leon Clark from Century and Natasha Bhaskaran from Mayo

2007 award winners were Ben Krolak and Amanda Duncan.

2006 award winners were Alyssa Lunde and Sean Martin.
