RCYBA is volunteer based non-profit sports association established to provide a fun, fair and safe basketball environment. RCYBA’s focus is to advance youth basketball in the City of Rochester through the teaching of basketball fundamentals, foster respect for others, build self-confidence, develop leadership, and promote teamwork in Rochester Student athletes.
RCYBA is planning to open registration for the 20/21 season very soon. Currently, we are reviewing the current guidelines from Minnesota Youth Athletic Services (MYAS), Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the National Center for Disease Control (CDC). With safety being our #1 concern, we are confident that we can develop a plan that will allow us to return in a safe and healthy way. How our programs will be structured will be dependent on the final guidelines from the MDH, Rochester School District and the other facilities that we use for our programs. Please keep in mind that ultimately the facility owner's (RPS, RCTC, NVC) COVID-19 plan will override any plan that RCYBA develops.
Minnesota Youth Athletic Services (MYAS) in strategic partnership with Youth 1st, have selected the Rochester JM 4th Grade C, 5th Grade B, 6th Grade C and 7th Grade B Girls Youth Basketball Teams as the recipient of a Youth 1st Team Award for their outstanding sportsmanship during the 2020 MYAS Grade State Championships, held March 7-8, in 14 locations across the Twin Cities metro area.
